How to install the Google Mail (Gmail) Application to an Apple or Android device

Apple Devices:

  1. If you have not already installed the Gmail app, open the App Store app and search for "Gmail". Locate the app entitled "Gmail - Email by Google" and tap the "Get" button next to it.

  2. Open the Gmail app and tap "Sign in" if prompted, then tap "Add account" on the following screen.

  1. Select "Google" from the list of providers. A popup will tell you that "Gmail" wants to use "http://google.com " to sign in - tap "Continue".

  2. Enter your UA Little Rock email address in the “Sign In” field and tap “Next”.

  3. You will now be prompted to log into your account via Single Sign-On (SSO). Enter your email address and password into the respective fields.

 

If you attempt to use an application other than Gmail to access your UA Little Rock email, you will see the following error message: 

 

 

 

Android Devices:

 

  1. Open the Settings app and tap "Accounts" in the list of settings. (Depending on your device, this item may be called "Users and accounts", "Cloud and accounts" or something similar instead.)

  2. Tap "Add account".(If you don't see this option, you may have to tap "Accounts" again first before you do so.)

  3. Tap "Google".

  4. Enter your UA Little Rock email address and tap “Next”.

  5. If prompted, tap the blue “Accept” button. 

  6. You will now be prompted to log into your account via Single Sign-On (SSO). Enter your email address and password into the respective fields.

 

If you attempt to use an application other than Gmail to access your UA Little Rock email, you will see the following error message:
