Use remote desktop

If using remote desktop from home, set up a VPN connection to the campus network first.

Ensure remote desktop is enabled on your computer

  1. Select the Start menu.
  2. Right-click on Computer, then select Properties. 
  3. Select Advanced System Settings in the left side of the window. 
  4. Select the Remote tab. 
  5. Select the "Allow connections from computers running any version of Remote Desktop."

Connect to a remote computer

If connecting from a home or external network, connect to the campus VPN service first.

Microsoft Windows

  1. Select the Start menu and type "Remote Desktop Connection".
  2. Enter the name of your work computer (hostname or IP address).
  3. Select Connect.

Apple macOS

  1. Open your Applications folder.
  2. Open the Microsoft Remote Desktop app.
  3. Enter the name of your work computer (hostname or IP address).
  4. Select Connect.
